Moringa oleifera

Leaves with a green, herbal taste and a hint reminiscent of green tea.

Aroma and flavor

A tree of Asian origin now grown in many warm regions. Its dried, very fine leaves give a herbal, green flavor.

How to use it in mate

Use a very small amount, mixed with the yerba. Keep in mind the limit set by the Argentine Food Code (below).

Goes well with

Mint, lemon verbena and lemon peel, which add aroma.

The Argentine Food Code requires infusions containing moringa to state on the label a maximum recommended intake equivalent to 5 g per day, and in composite yerba mate moringa and nettle together may not exceed 5% of the total.
